The fully automatic strapping machine is designed for the vertical strapping of slit coils around the circumference at the turnstile.

The coils are hanging vertically straight on the mandrel of the turnstile, clamped by a hold down device.

The strapping machine moves from its home position outside the turning area of the turnstile into the strapping area and takes the first strapping position, i.e. the position required for the strapping of the first ring of the slit coil. The top lances move down and close the strap channel around the ring. The strap is fed-in and the side mounted head moves towards the ring for sealing. Strap positioning arms assist with the centering of the strap around the ring.

The strapping operation is repeated for each ring.

TITAN provides these strapping machines with different heads for different joint types and strap qualities.

In addition, the strapping machine is available with a laser scanner for the detection of the coil edges and the slits within the coil for an exact positioning of the strapping machine in the centre of each single ring. The application of coil protectors can be integrated in the strapping process as well. Also, a label applicator can be installed.
